The Arrival Empty The Arrival

Post by Alex Granit Mon Apr 14, 2014 3:31 am

Lester stumbled down the rocks leading to the Little Tiber, and then the border of the camp. He had passed the rigorous tests of Lupa and, against all odds, had finally made it to his true destination. Only something had been chasing him. He could hear it growling, and smell it's wretched farts. Lest had no idea what it was, nor did he care. The only thing he cares about right now was getting to the darned camp. Someone else would have to take care of the farting monster that lurked behind him. He saw two armored people standing guard at a gate, He ran towards them flailing his arms and yelling for help "There's a monster chasing me! and it smells really bad!" He yelled and complained at the same time. In his mind, Lester was thinking about the torcher such a foul odor could bring upon him. He would have to bath for weeks, and then burn down the bath tub afterwards.

Ren had a salad in his hands and his spear and shield collapsed, but when he heard a person yell, he turned and went wide eyed, and dropped his salad, makeing his shield and his spear form. He turned and yelled out as loud as he could for reinforcements. He turned watching the thing approach and the boy running towards them. He grips his spear and charges. His armor was ment for this kinda stuff, being just the leather parts and none of the plates. He kneels and raises his shield and plants the base of his spear on the ground. The spear was aimed for the chest of the thing. His shield arm was covering the majority of his body, hopefully he could get its complete attention, haveing his glowing weapons and his glowing spear.

Lester stopped running after the armored soldier sped past him, and kneeled before the tiny little creature. Bending his knees and putting his hands on his knees to catch his breath. He viewed the white, weasel like, creature as it veered off a couple of inches past the boy's spear and to Lesters feet where it just sat there farting. Lester looked over the little thing. Then he picked it up and held it in his hands "this is the most adorable thing I have ever seen!" He said hugging the weasle thing.  He had always wanted a pet, and this would be the perfect one for him, with a snow white pelt like the mountains he lived in, and it's eyes were a red hue that he had never seen before. It was amazing and it was his, he had decided that this will be one of his best friends. "I shall call you... Mary" He said merely waiting for his escort to take him to the camp since he had no idea how to get there.

Ren looked around in shock. The thing wasn't a killing thing? What was this madness! He would turn to the boy and say"What's that thing? It's farting in your arms! And it seems to not be as big as it looked." He says as he cleans his spears base. He gestures for the boy to fallow as he walks to the camp, sighing.

Lester shrugged his shoulders " I didn't really have time to look back while it was chasing me, so I just assumed that it was just a big scary monster, but it's actually kind of cute. I don't really mind the smell, also, some animals smell much worse than this one"
He walked along with gaurd in front of him and Mary standing with 2 paws on his shoulder and 2 on his head, the fury thing wasn't a big bad monster at all. She was actually pretty nice, minus the part where her claws scratched his head or shoulders whenever she shifted them for a better grip which also hurt his head a little bit. He would be fine though, just some minor scratches.

Lester was pretty excited to get to the camp, after all those tests in the wolf house and the trip to there and to this camp he was finally here. He felt like his whole life had been leading up to this very moment, where he would walk up to the camp and finally be with people he might be able to fit in with. Although, he doubted that those people had been as isolated as he had been and therefor most likely had much better people skills than he has. Though, it's hard to find someone who doesn't. He also thought about what the camp would be like; a rustic summer camp, a bunch of high tech complexes, he assumed that it would be in the ancient Roman style considering this camp was for like roman demigods or whatever. That's also something Lester can't get over, the fact that the Roman gods and all the mythology was actually real and the gods and monsters are still alive today. The fact that he was actually one of these demigods was even freakier, it would explain why his mother was never there for him and why his father despised talking about her. Was there really any need for keeping it a secret, though? How would it have effected anything besides that he knew why his mother left him and that he was a Roman demigod. In fact, it might have even helped him, he could have researched monsters and found out their weaknesses or how other demigods in the past had defeated them. It could have saved his life someday, but he also understood how it might affect him negatively if he were to ever find out. Lester would probably have the urge to find his mother, despite not even knowing which god she was, and most likely kill himself trying. So it would probably have been better just to keep it a secret and not take the risk.

As they walked down the tunnel, ren turns and asks the boy" so, that thing is a weasel monster that's friendly and farts?" He looks at the thing as they near the exit, and sighs, the thing was kinda weird.

Lester suddenly broke from his thoughts when the guard started to talk to him. " Well,it doesn't seem to be trying to murder me" Lester shrugged in response.
He slowly petted his weasel-thing, what was that anyway? A weasel or a ferret, he couldn't be sure, considering he wasn't a zoologist and never planned on going into that field of study. Or any field of study really, his brain was always getting sidetracked... Kind of like he just did. " So, approximately how much longer until we reach this camp?" He asked the person a little awkwardly.
This was one of the first actual conversations he had with someone other than his father, and his nerves were a little bit crazy. A thousand thoughts were racing through his head at once, some not even about what he was originally thinking about. Am I going to make a good impression with him? Is there going to be good food there ? Oh,what if there's grilled cheese sandwiches? I love grilled cheese!

Looking down the tunnel he saw the light pouring in from the other side. He started to quicken his pace and as he reaches the exit he would stop and point to the gates, and take his helmet off. He holds it out to the boy and says"Here put this on and walk towards the gates with your hands up. It will let them know your coming in peace, I am going back to the other end of the tunnel." He turns and waves his hand as he walks away.

Lester looked at the gates that stood before him, but everything was a bit blurry until his eyes had adjusted to the bright light that shone upon him. He awkwardly took the helmet from the boys hand and heard his footsteps as he walked back to guard duty "Thanks for the warm welcome" He yelled dryly at the kid.
He didn't even bother to say his name. Maybe that's just how the Romans act? With brute strength instead of the mind. he mulled over while placing the helmet on his head, it was a little bit too big for him so the little eye holes only let him see half of the world around him. To Lester, the helmet was something that could not be coped with. One that doesn't fit him, at least.

When Lester was ready to be brought into the Legion, he put his hands up in the surrender pose and walked out of the tunnel where he yelled out "Hello! I'm Lester Finnigan. Apparent demigod. I'm look to seek refuge in your camp!" to a guard he hoped might be on watch, if they even did things like have watch guards. Although by the looks of things they did, with guards at the entrance of a tunnel that led to a gate. They seemed to be pretty big on security by what he could tell. He'll have to remember not to rub anyone the wrong way before he becomes a member, these people seemed very serious.
