Skipping his duties

Ren walks to the stables, hands behind his head. He was ditching his sentry duties for the day. He usually enjoyed haveing sentry duty, ment he had someone to talk with, mabey a new friend. As ren walks into the stables he turn a bunch of hay over, and sits on it, relaxing as he stretched his legs. Closeting his eyes he started to dose off, thinking of why he had to take the sentry duty that was at early mourning.

Campbell strode into the stables. He liked spending time with the horses, especially the golden-brown one. Campbell didn't know her name. Oh well. Seeing a fellow Fifth Cohort legionnaire, Ren, lounging on a haystack, Campbell approached him.

"Hey Ren, didn't you have sentry duty?" Campbell had a pretty good memory, but he was pretty tired last night, when they assigned duties for today. He could have been mistaken.

"So what if I do have sentry duty. It's not like the world will end. They gave me a early shift also. Why did they have to give me the early shift." Ren says with a sigh. He was laid across the hay and was starting at the roof. The wood was a fresh looking piece of wood.

"I guess someone has to do it.... Were you just going to hang out here?" Campbell frowned. It wasn't his place to supervise Ren, so he couldn't say anything more.

(No plan really just getting topics going, so I am not bored all the time, I'm just going with how it is.)

Ren looks at the boy, thinking of what the name of this kid could be, he looked older, and he was quite of a pestering person it seemed. Finally after a while of akward scilence he looks up and says" Your names Campbell right? Yeah I was going to just hang out here, but you came and gave me some company. Thanks about telling me once agine about me haveing to do sentry duty, all alone. That's the reason I'm ditching is it's lonely being by yourself out there. I was the only one who voulentered though. So it's by burden to bare alone, for the first two hours of the day." He sighs and starts to stand, a horse looking at him with sad looking eyes. Ren grabs a handful of the hay he was laying on and holds it out for the horse letting it eat out of his hand.

Campbell, grinned, patting a horse, "Yeah, I'm Campbell. Well, if you want, I'm gonna head up to the sentry post, you could come with me. Maybe we'll get lucky and a monster'll attack." The guys obviously thought he was being pushy, or something, so Campbell tried laying off on the sense of duty.
"Someone's gotta be up there, and it might as well be me. We're supposed to have two sentries at all times, I'm surprised the management goofed up so bad." Campbell offered a hand to pull Ren up. "Coming?"

Ren grabs Campbell's hand, accepting his help up. He smiled when Campbell said that they would be lucky if a monster appeared. He then says" Hey why not, I would be doing my duty then. I might as well keep you company, and give you support if a monster appears." He says with a grin.

((Okay, good, Jake did fix it. Less work for me.))

"Cool!" Campbell laughed as he led the way to the maintenance tunnel that was the entrance to the outside world. Campbell really hoped a monster would attack. At least a little one. You know, for some fun.
